St. Clair River Spill Update

Update for the spill to the river.

The USCG has the lead on the US side for all updates moving forward. There is no threat to any water intake. It is estimated that approximately 1300 gallons were spilled mostly into containment. The weather has kept the oil on the surface and pushed towards Canada’s shoreline. The USCG does have a pollution response team assessing the shoreline on our side and any results will be passed on. There was a helicopter overflight yesterday and those images show no impacts to US shoreline at this point.

Again, there is no threat to drinking water and I would refer you to the USCG and EGLE for any environmental concerns. They are leading that response.
